Germany's export-manufacturing model collapses (e.g. sustained sharp contraction in manufacturing output/exports such that it no longer anchors the economy) by 2023-07-11.
Criterion asks whether Germany's export-manufacturing model 'collapses... such that it no longer anchors the economy' by 2023-07-11. Evidence shows a genuine and widely-discussed sharp contraction / 'deindustrialisation' worry (manufacturing GVA, industrial production, and exports all down in 2023, energy-intensive sectors hit hardest), but NOT a collapse or vanishing: Germany was still the world's #3 exporter, autos still a leading export, manufacturing still ~29% of GDP, and the model still anchored the economy at the deadline. The strong form of the claim (collapse/vanish) was not met; a weak form (significant decline) has support. Status resolved with both sides noted; true/partial/false and outcome value (o) left to the quantify stage.

Evidence of what happened
German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis): for 2023 the German economy contracted 0.3% y/y; manufacturing gross value added contracted (e.g. -2.2% y/y in Q4 2023), industrial production fell ~3% on the year (~10% below pre-pandemic level), and exports declined ~4.0% (goods -5.1%), driven by chemicals, pharmaceuticals and data-processing equipment. This is a marked/sustained contraction in manufacturing output and exports — but Destatis characterizes it as contraction, not a collapse, and notes motor-vehicle production actually rose.
Despite the 2023 contraction, Germany's export-manufacturing model did NOT collapse or 'effectively vanish': Germany remained one of the world's largest exporters (merchandise exports ~$1.62 trillion in 2023), exported ~3.1 million passenger cars, and manufacturing/industry still accounted for roughly 29% of GDP. Volkswagen alone produced ~9.31M vehicles in 2023. The export-manufacturing sector continued to anchor the economy as of mid-2023.
