At Tesla's Q4 2021 earnings call (Jan 26-31, 2022), Musk said he would be 'shocked if we do not achieve Full Self-Driving safer than human this year' — i.e., pushing the safer-than-human target into 2022, confirming it had NOT been achieved by end of 2021.
As of late Jan 2022, FSD Beta remained a Level 2 system requiring constant driver supervision at all times and was described as 'a lot more limited than many people hoped and quite far from Musk's original promise' — cars could attempt local/highway driving with supervision but 'the capacity wouldn't be good.'
