In Jan 2016 Musk said a Tesla would be summonable 'from across the country' and charge itself along the journey within ~2 years. Wikipedia's predictions list records this as NOT MET. The related autonomous coast-to-coast demo drive was promised for end-2017, repeatedly slipped, and never occurred in that era.
The promised autonomous LA-to-NYC coast-to-coast drive never happened on schedule; Musk on the Feb 7 2018 earnings call pushed it to 'three months, six months at the outside,' and it still did not occur. A zero-intervention coast-to-coast FSD-Supervised drive was only accomplished in late 2025, nearly a decade later. As of the 2018-01-10 deadline no cross-country autonomous summon existed; Summon was limited to short low-speed parking-lot/driveway maneuvers.
