Evidence contradicts the prediction. The criterion required a 'macro higher low' (a durable local bottom above the prior low) in early December 2025. Instead the ratio continued to fall into 2026, reaching a fresh 10-month low in May 2026 — invalidating any early-December bottom as a macro higher low. Any short-term wiggle in early December was not a structural bottom.

Evidence of what happened
The ETH/BTC ratio did NOT form a durable higher low in early December 2025: ether kept underperforming and the ratio fell to a 10-month low by 2026-05-12, printing fresh lower lows well after the predicted early-December bottom.
VanEck's December 2025 recap shows both assets falling in December (BTC -4%, ETH -3%), with ether continuing to underperform — no macro ETH/BTC bottom established that month.
ETH/BTC remained in a long-term downtrend relative to bitcoin through late 2025 and into 2026, staying far below its 200-week MA — consistent with continued lower lows, not a macro higher low.
