Bitcoin dominance (BTC.D index) rises materially at some point during September–October 2025 relative to its 2025-08-19 level — a rise of ≥3 percentage points — with altcoin/BTC pairs broadly declining over the same window.
Criterion has TWO parts: (a) BTC.D rises materially, defined as ≥3 percentage points above the 2025-08-19 level at some point in Sep–Oct, AND (b) altcoin/BTC pairs broadly decline. Part (b) clearly held — alts broadly fell vs BTC across the window and especially in the Oct 10 crash. Part (a) appears NOT met on available indices: the Aug 19 baseline was roughly 58% (the yearly low was 57.3% on Aug 27), and the Sep–Oct peak was only ~59% (~58.45% even at the Oct crash), i.e. a rise of ~+1 to +2 pp, short of the ≥3 pp threshold. Caveat: dominance indices differ (CoinMarketCap vs CoinGecko vs TradingView CRYPTOCAP:BTC.D, some include/exclude stablecoins), so the exact magnitude is index-dependent, but no consulted source shows a ≥3 pp rise from the Aug 19 level. Direction correct; magnitude fell short. No outcome value assigned.

Outcome evidence
BTC dominance printed its 2025 yearly low of 57.3% on Aug 27, 2025 — i.e., the Aug 19 baseline sat only modestly above the low-57% area.
Rising-dominance coverage: from mid-September BTC.D climbed from 57.3% to 'nearly 59%' as total crypto mcap fell from >$4T to $3.82T — roughly a 1.5–2 pp rise, with altcoins falling faster than BTC.
During the Oct 10–11 flash crash, altcoins cratered while BTC held up (Solana/Cardano −30%, some alts −60–90%), lifting BTC dominance only to ~58.45% — no large dominance spike above ~59%.
